Episode 1

MAN YAT LONG (Freeman) is transferred back to Hong Kong from his US headquarters. His family members include his parents, CHIU KIT and MEI SIN, two brothers, RAY and CHING, and most important of all his grandpa, MAN TAI LOI, who is a school principal and in charge of everything at home. After being bullied on purpose by his new boss Miss SZE, FREEMAN hurries to meet LOI for lunch and meets Miss SZE again on the street. Actually, Miss SZE is an old student of LOI and she intentionally ridicules FREEMAN in the presence of LOI, who talks back for FREEMAN. KIT works in the Food and Environment Hygiene Department. Episode 3

LOI and KIT ignore each other. Worrying that the problem will get worse, FREEMAN and his brothers try to find out the reason. When the attempt fails, they turn to force SIN to speak out the truth. ANNIE wants FREEMAN to look for a job but he ignores her. On his first day in the Feces-team, KIT does everything on his own and even goes inspecting around restaurants. KIT, who is not careful enough, throws up after eating some unhygienic food. LOI understands KIT needs to perform night shift duty and therefore allows him to attend the family meeting every Sunday morning. On one particular Sunday morning, KIT gets up late and hurries to restaurant. When they are enjoying the dim sum, KIT mistakes that LOI has a complaint against him. Episode 4

RAY is upset because he has got no reply for his job search so far. FREEMAN comforts RAY by saying that grandpa will support the whole family and tells him not to push himself too hard. Suspecting that he has Parkinson’s disease, LOI goes and consults the doctor, who points out that the report will only be ready in one week. LOI asks SIN whether KIT has a salary rise and gives more money for family expenses, to which KIT is unhappy. LOI also urges FREEMAN to find a job as soon as possible, to which FREEMAN muddles through. MIKI MO, who has been actively looking for a job, finally gets a job, which is to as a private assistant to a star, AKUBI. MIKI is always reprimanded by AKUBI for no apparent reason. FREEMAN and his two brothers go and sing in a karaoke bar, where they meet MIKI, AKUBI and others. AKUBI forces MIKI to play the finger-guessing game with FREEMAN and to accept the punishment. She further makes MIKI get the phone number of FREEMAN, who teases MIKI. LOI lies that he has a date with friends for tea. His hands are trembling so much that he cannot tie the shoelaces; he is frustrated. LOI goes to a senile citizen center, where a group of Parkinson’s disease patients are doing hand exercise. To save face, he does not join them. SIN admires LOI for his relaxing retired life while LOI thinks otherwise. LOI goes to the school. In order to get back the photos, MIKI follows RAY. MOON helps to knock him out but no photos are found. WING goes and searches RAY’s home with negative result. The beer commercial which FREEMAN took part in is shown on the TV; the whole family is happy. FREEMAN meets ANNIE and accepts invitation to her wedding party. The movie tape which CHING treasures a lot is washed away accidentally; CHING shifts his anger to LOI. Feeling sad, LOI phones HELEN to air his grievances. FREEMAN participates in ANNIE’s wedding party, where he meets MIKI, who is very happy to know that ANNIE has abandoned FREEMAN. FREEMAN finds MIKI’s reaction unthinkable. Episode 7

To everyone’s surprise, LOI does not oppose to the idea of FREEMAN’s becoming a singer all of a sudden. When SIN takes the night snack to LOI’s room, LOI frankly speaks that FREEMAN will only grow up when he has learned his lesson. SIN takes out golden songs CD for LOI to enjoy. When LOI plays the CD, he hears no song but FREEMAN’s voices, requesting LOI to let him fulfill his dream and expressing his wish that LOI would be the his first fan. MIKI is assigned to be the assistant of FREEMAN and AKUBI. MIKI wants to show FREEMAN her strictness but is teased instead by him. HELEN comes to LOI’s house to look for him. LOI, who is shocked, takes her away. HELEN threatens to take him to an old folks’ home, LOI promises unwillingly. AKUBI tells MIKI to buy cakes but MIKI muddles through. AKUBI reproaches MIKI when FREEMAN rescues her out. FREEMAN suddenly says that he has creative inspiration and asks MIKI to drive him to a place where he can pick up the feelings of his first love which took place when he was young. HELEN takes LOI to the senile citizen center where LOI comes to know MADAM MO and SEI SUK, who invite him to play Mahjong with them. MADAM MO praises HELEN for her kindness and LOI changes his perception on HELEN. With intention to open a cake shop, MIKI goes to try some cake buffet for reference. Episode 9

Every member in the family has a sleepless night after knowing about LOI’s problem. The next morning, they find out that LOI has not yet returned from his morning walk and worry that he might has got lost because of senile dementia. FREEMAN eventually finds LOI, who laughs at him for failing to know the difference between Parkinson’s disease and senile dementia. KIT and SIN have made a nameplate for LOI, who does not want to argue. FREEMAN tries his new song; SISTER FA gives him a compliment and lets AKUBI to be the actress in his MV. Neither MADAM MO nor WING is willing to have a taste of the cakes made by MIKI. MIKI therefore turns to RAY. Paparazzi take unpleasant photos of KIT, SIN and CHING, who in turn blame FREEMAN. LOI ridicules them by saying that it is time for them to sacrifice if they want to be the relatives of a star. MIKI promises FREEMAN to help him get rid of paparazzi, but AKUBI makes a first move. AKUBI pretends to have twisted her ankle and asks FREEMAN to prop her up. The sight is caught by paparazzi with cameras. FREEMAN needs to move to another place. KIT plans to let LOI move downstairs while he and SIN will occupy the master’s room. RAY tells MIKI that he wants to be a fireman. He also suggests her to learn cake-making from a cake expert who named LING WU CHUNG who teaches cake-making on the Internet. The overjoyed KIT announces the new family code of conduct, which states that CHING is responsible for car washing or else pocket will be deducted, and prior application is needed if CHING wants to play electronic games. CHING returns home after 11 pm and KIT fines him 300 dollars, to which CHING angers. The next day, KIT and SIN discovers CHING playing games secretly and putting bowls and chopsticks into the washing machine. AKUBI makes a rumor to reporters that FREEMAN tangles around with her. KIT locks up the door and windows to force CHING to apologize, but RAY suffers at the end. MIKI finds some gold fish for FREEMAN’s photo shooting; this makes quite an impression on him. KIT asks CHING to do some labor to exchange for pocket money; he obeys helplessly. However, KIT only pays half of the money. CHING decides to fight back. RAY gives MIKI a butter cake recipe. She is very happy and praises him for the cakes he makes. FREEMAN’s record is a best seller and he thanks everybody but MIKI in the press conference. Feeling a sense of loss, MIKI unwittingly goes to a gold fish shop, where FREEMAN calls her. Episode 13

Reporters enquire the love story, FREEMAN denotes that he only treats MIKI as his sister and assistant; MIKI’s heart is broken. AKUBI, who is jealous of MIKI, asks MIKI to perform a screen test for her, which scares MIKI who is afraid of height. RAY has no mood because of the love affair between FREEMAN and MIKI. LOI teaches RAY to look at and analyze things at different angles by using the scenic view from the mountain. When his family enquires about the love affairs, FREEMAN denies; RAY is relieved. MIKI is sick; RAY cooks medicine and copies for her, leaving a very good impression on MADAM MO. FREEMAN does not understand why his assistant is changed and why MIKI gives him cold shoulder. Episode 14

MIKI is put into a dilemma that the two brothers have fallen for her at the same time. She therefore decides to hide away from them. On the other hand, FREEMAN and RAY individually seek advice from SIN and LOI. To earn pocket money, CHING works as a delivery boy in HELEN’s shop where he meets LOI. LOI does not oppose to CHING’s working part-time. He also tells CHING that it is fun to be able to spend one’s own money and that the most important thing for a man is to be independent. It is only when RAY sends AKUBI cakes on behalf of MIKI that FREEMAN knows RAY likes MIKI as well. To protect RAY’s fragile mind, FREEMAN hesitates if he should back out. When the family receives a phone call saying that FREEMAN is injured, they hurry to the hospital. The resentment between the two brothers vanishes when RAY knows that FREEMAN has gone to pluck wooden pineapple for him and got injured. They come to terms that MIKI should be the one who makes the choice. MIKI arranges to meet FREEMAN and RAY, denoting that she does not want to see both of them again. FREEMAN is well aware that MIKI is under a lot of pressure and so suggests that the three of them to be friends again. MIKI feels relieved hearing this. RAY is dissatisfied with KIT’s unreasonable objection to his cake business. He decides to ask for a family referendum so as to force KIT to hand over the money from the family fund. He gets the support from SIN, LOI, and his two aunties, HUNG and KWAN. HELEN’s husband, SHING, forces her to sell the flat to pay his debt. He further points out that LOI has instigated their divorce. He hits and injures LOI. KIT insists the voting is invalid while RAY and CHING are dissatisfied with his inconsistence and leave home. KIT is frustrated because of the bad father-and-son relationship. KIT staggers home after drinking; LOI takes good care of him. KIT apologizes to LOI for mistaking for having an ambiguous relationship with HELEN. KIT buys CHING a new computer and they become friends again. FREEMAN and MIKI enjoy no privacy in seeing movies. KIT finds the wrist-chain when he wakes up. He suspects that he has had a one-night-stand with LAM. He therefore buys her a diamond wrist-chain for compensation. On seeing KIT buying a wrist-chain, SIN mistakes that the wrist-chain is for her. When there has been no indication for quite some time, SIN becomes suspicious. FREEMAN’s relationship with his company improves and he is sent to Japan for recording. KIT goes for morning walk. RAY and CHING deride him that he is having a middle-age crisis so he has to keep his body in good shape for the opposite sex. On hearing this, SIN is shocked. KIT wants to buy SIN a gift to apologize on one hand, but his heart is aching when he the gift is so expensive. KIT unwittingly comes to the place where FREEMAN lives and comes across SIN. He immediately shows a pitiful face and promises SIN a second honeymoon to Japan, which softens SIN. KIT angers at hearing that his three sons laugh at him for being a fool and gave 10 thousand dollars to LAM to whom he did not have sex.
