A white teenager is killed by a black cop during a police shooting, leading an expert investigator and a special prosecutor to examine the case and grapple with media attention, public debate and the social unrest.

Hour Two: Betrayal of Trust

A controversial video leaks that features Deputy Beck, creating a new challenge for Ashe and Preston. Suspicions rise around Pastor Janae when it's revealed that she had a run-in with Joey and a witness goes missing in the case of Joey's murder.

Hour Three: Somebody's Son

Ashe and Preston examine evidence in both cases and go on a dangerous manhunt for credible witnesses. The political implications of both cases begin to rise and Eamons' biggest competition seeks out Jesse'e mother.

Hour Five: Before the Storm

Cory reveals some key details about the night Joey Campbell was murdered, allowing Preston and Ashe to zero in on the people whom they believe were involved in his death. Their list of suspects grows significantly when they realize a long-standing program in place at the Sheriff's Department may have taken some liberties in the town of Gate Station.

Hour Six: The Fire This Time

The tension heats up in Gate Station as a violent riot erupts between the citizens and the police. Meanwhile, Ashe and Preston confront Governor Eamons regarding their latest suspicions in Joey's murder, Ashe takes matters into her own hands when it comes to Javier and Preston sits down with Beck.

Hour Seven: Content of Their Character

Another team is tasked with investigating the case, but Preston remains dedicated to finding out the truth as a witness is placed in potential danger.

Hour Eight: Rock Bottom

Preston and Ashe discover a possible murder weapon for the Joey Campbell case and are feel pressured to use it to find the identity of Joey's killer.

Hour Nine: Come to Jesus

In light of a surprising discovery about the Auxiliary Deputy program, the investigation puts the Sheriff's Department under further scrutiny.

Hour Ten: Last Dance

In the series finale, the hearings for both cases are held and, as Preston presents the facts to the jurors, the truth behind each shooting is revealed. Meanwhile, Pastor Janae and other petitioners gather outside the courtroom in anticipation of the results, hoping for a better future. After the Sheriff's Department loses one of its own, it becomes clear who is really to blame.
