Shark Saviours

Steve Backshall puts 12 young shark enthusiasts through a tough series of challenges to select his team of shark saviours. Their reward is the chance to travel to the Bahamas and swim with sharks in a protected sanctuary.

Mission Bimini

Steve Backshall’s young shark saviours arrive in Bimini, where they begin their diving training and meet the local members of the team. Their first encounter with a Caribbean reef shark gives them an exciting introduction to life beneath the waves.

Black Tip Sharks

The team heads to Rainbow Reef for more dive training before getting their first close-up encounter with blacktip sharks. Steve introduces them to these fast-moving predators in the shallow water, giving the young divers a thrilling taste of life beneath the surface.

Lemon Sharks

The team explores Bimini’s mangrove forests, an important nursery for young sharks, where they get a close look at juvenile lemon sharks. They also discover more about the local community and the importance of protecting these vital habitats.

Southern Stingrays

Bad weather forces the team to abandon their next dive, leaving everyone feeling disappointed. Steve takes them to Honeymoon Harbour, where they meet and swim alongside magnificent southern stingrays.

Nurse Sharks

The team finally complete their dive training and become fully qualified scuba divers. They then take their first underwater dive with nurse sharks, getting a close-up encounter with these fascinating predators.

Bull Sharks

The team faces one of their most challenging encounters yet as Steve introduces them to powerful bull sharks. From the safety of a shark cage, they must overcome their nerves and get close to these formidable predators.

Tiger Sharks

Steve takes four of the young divers on a special dive to explore a shipwreck teeming with marine life, while the team prepares for their upcoming encounter with great hammerhead sharks.

Great Hammerhead Sharks

The team reach the final dive of their Bimini adventure, where they set out to encounter the elusive great hammerhead shark. After completing their training and conquering their fears, the young shark saviours get the chance to experience one of their most spectacular encounters yet.
