Chapter 1

Bela promises Juli she will pick up Samuca from school, but while stopping at a market, she has to attend to a pregnant woman who is about to give birth right there. Vanessa is annoyed that Bela wants to admit the pregnant woman to her hospital. Bela and Juli’s car flips over after a crash, and the nursing technician is left in critical condition. Juli makes Bela promise to look after her children.

Chapter 3

Dulce is surprised when she arrives at Bela's house and sees Juli's children. Bela realizes the responsibility she took on by promising to look after her friend's children. Juarez concludes that he is responsible for Juli's death and becomes distraught. Dalva and Neiva pine for Ricardo. Toy confesses to Próspero that he is fascinated by Leandra. Peixe decides to return home.

Chapter 4

Peixe decides to return home, but his siblings stay with Bela. Vanessa discovers a suspicious message from Pérola to Gabriel. Lucas supports Bela. Dalila insists she will not abandon Peixe. Bela goes to Iara’s house and assures Juarez that she will find Juli’s killer. Bela mentions Juarez’s dejected state to Iara. The doctor tries to organize her daily routine with the children, and Glorinha supports her.

Chapter 5

Juarez decides not to reveal his involvement in the accident with Juli to his wife and daughter. Samuca struggles at school, and Ítalo helps him. Bela is moved by Gabriel's support. Próspero and Clemente argue, and Toy interrupts them. Vanessa overhears Gabriel talking to Pérola, who asserts that the obstetrician is the right person to take over the hospital presidency.

Chapter 6

Vanessa is furious with Bela and treats her rudely. Pérola announces to Bela that she has plans for her at the hospital. Vanessa recalls how she lost her son in the past and blames the obstetrician. Bela talks to Gabriel about Juli's children. Ítalo struggles during his judo classes and misses his mother. Dalila focuses on her social media presence. Dulce resigns from her job with Bela.

Chapter 7

Dulce resigns from her job with Bela. Lucas alerts the obstetrician about Peixe's behavior at school. Bela and Lucas kiss. Bela tells Lucas that she isn't in a good place to get involved with anyone. Peixe forgets the key to Bela's house and decides to go to the hospital with his siblings. Vanessa inaugurates her special hospital wing and taunts Bela. Bela takes the children to the mall, and everyone is reminded of Juli.

Chapter 8

Pérola confronts Vanessa. Samuca reaches out to Bela after a vision involving Juli. Vanessa humiliates Gabriel. Juarez becomes distressed upon seeing the police at Próspero's bar. Juli's children are taken to a shelter. Bela promises to resolve the situation but notices the children's disappointment.

Chapter 9

Bela meets Carmela. Vera explains the shelter's rules to the children. Ricardo tells Gabriel to stay at his apartment. Gabriel offers to help Bela obtain temporary custody of Juli's children. Vanessa follows Gabriel and catches her husband with Bela.

Chapter 10

Gabriel tells Bela that he left Vanessa. Lucas welcomes Peixe and his brothers to school again. Bela asks the director for news about the children. Vanessa sends false news to the press in order to compromise Bela. Gabriel talks to Leandra about the separation from Vanessa. Toy is frustrated when he can't introduce himself to Leandra. Bela discovers that she was reported as a child kidnapper.

Chapter 11

Bela deduces that it was Vanessa who framed her. Gabriel tells Ricardo that Bela still affects him. Vanessa humiliates Bela, who reacts and confronts her. Iracema comforts Bela. Pérola feels unwell, and Leandra worries. Suelen complains to Dalila about being unable to get close to Peixe. Peixe shows Lucas the article containing the false story accusing Bela of kidnapping minors.

Chapter 12

Bela rushes to help Carmela, while Vanessa refuses to act as the anesthesiologist in the absence of the doctor on duty. Bela successfully delivers Carmela's baby; Carmela claims that no one knew she was pregnant. Lucas is disappointed that Bela missed their meeting. Pérola finds out that Vanessa refused to assist with Carmela's delivery and reprimands her daughter. Vanessa badmouths Bela to Junqueira.

Chapter 13

Vanessa strikes a deal with Junqueira. Iara suggests that Bela get closer to Lucas. Peixe asks Suelen out, and Dalila gets jealous. Ricardo tells Bela he believes Gabriel still has feelings for her. Leandra drops Gabriel off at the shelter where Juli's children are staying. Carmela thanks Bela for saving her life and her baby's life. Toy hires Maike to work at his stall.

Chapter 14

Peixe and his siblings manage to distract Vera and escape from the group home. Bela is distraught when she discovers the children have run away and asks Gabriel for help finding them. Peixe and his siblings try to return to the house where they used to live with Juli, only to discover that someone else is living there. After having their backpacks stolen, Peixe, Ítalo, Glorinha, and Samuca take shelter under a viaduct.

Chapter 15

Ítalo takes advantage of Peixe's distraction to send a photo of his location to Bela. Bela finds the children and announces that she has secured temporary custody of the siblings. Vanessa tells Gabriel she will not give up on their love. Juarez offers Peixe a job. Gabriel announces that footage of the car involved in the accident that claimed Juli's life has been found, and Juarez panics.

Chapter 16

Gabriel explains that it is impossible to identify the driver from the footage. Pérola tells Ricardo she will keep his medical condition a secret. Leandra arrives to keep her grandmother company at the hospital. Bela thanks Gabriel for his support. Vanessa taunts Bela by sending her flowers in the name of Luz Hospital. Juarez considers turning himself in to the police for the accident involving Juli, but ultimately changes his mind right in front of the police station.

Chapter 17

Vanessa yields to Bela's threat and issues a public retraction on behalf of the hospital. The heiress tells Giovana that Bela will eventually suffer pain just like hers. Ítalo tells Glorinha he won't return to judo. Ítalo is captivated when he sees Hanna dancing. Leandra is disappointed in Vitor. Maike serves a *pastel* to Leandra, who leaves her card behind in the stall's card machine. Toy is thrilled to discover his beloved's name.

Chapter 18

Ítalo injures his arm, and Lucas, Peixe, and Glorinha take him to Luz Hospital. Vitor questions Leandra about their relationship. Peixe talks to Gabriel. Gabriel catches Lucas and Bela together, and Vanessa observes her ex-husband's reaction. Bela warns Peixe about Vanessa. Iara grows frustrated by Juarez's lack of response to her advances. Bela attends her first parent-teacher meeting at the school.

Chapter 19

Zé asks Juarez to hide illegal car parts. Toy masks his disappointment and hands Leandra's card to Nelma. Junqueira questions Vanessa about the hospital succession. The children arrange a meeting between Lucas and Bela. Juarez considers moving away with Iara and Dalila. Vanessa surprises Gabriel with a dinner with friends. Bela and Lucas kiss.

Chapter 20

Bela and Lucas approve of the children's plan to bring them together. Iara and Dalila believe Juarez was joking about the possible move. Gabriel refuses to give in to Vanessa's pressure and states that they will face a contested divorce. Próspero is moved by Toy's sadness over Leandra. Margô notices Lucas's excitement. Maike comforts Toy. Sabugo picks up Tom-Tom from the foster home.

Chapter 21

Iara is distraught to find the house ransacked, and Bela and Dalila offer her support. Juarez feels relieved to see that Zé’s items are still in their hiding place. Peixe retrieves the belongings of Juli and her siblings. Juarez confronts Zé, and Próspero warns his friend about the supposed mechanic. Bela asks Peixe not to return to her old house. Gabriel assures Ricardo that he will fight to win back his relationship with Bela.

Chapter 22

Bela tells Gabriel that time has moved on for both of them and confirms that she is in a relationship with Lucas. At school, Samuca has a crisis and calls out for Bela. Lucas takes Samuca to the hospital and ends up overhearing part of the conversation between Gabriel and Bela. The obstetrician comforts Samuca, who manages to calm down in her arms. Lucas advises Bela to seek a specialist evaluation for Samuca.

Chapter 23

Peixe tells Bela that he and his brothers won't be staying in her building for long. Peixe is pained by memories of Juli. Lucas supports Sabugo. Gabriel and Peixe grow closer. Vanessa's scheme works, and Gabriel is invited to speak at an important event. Lucas questions Bela about her feelings for Gabriel. Juarez places himself in a dangerous position atop a pedestrian overpass.

Chapter 24

Juarez throws the money Zé had entrusted to him off the bridge. Lucas invites Bela to dinner and to see his home. Toy introduces himself to Leandra as a doctor. Bela and Gabriel confide in Iara and Ricardo, respectively, about the conversation they had at the hospital. Peixe runs into Gabriel, and Vanessa sees them. Bela and Lucas have a romantic dinner, and the director declares his love for the doctor.

Chapter 25

Bela and Lucas are deeply in love, until the obstetrician is called away for an emergency delivery. Vitor prescribes the wrong medication to a patient and asks Alencar not to tell Ricardo. Dalila and Peixe feel a mutual attraction. Toy poses as a doctor again and talks to Leandra. Gabriel begins his lecture in the Luz Hospital auditorium. The lawyer calls Bela up to the stage.

Chapter 26

Vanessa turns against Gabriel and Bela. Junqueira makes a job offer to Gabriel, and Leandra, Ricardo, and Pérola celebrate. Vanessa reprimands Junqueira for jumping the gun with the offer to Gabriel. Bela warns Gabriel about the consequences of his actions involving Vanessa. Giovana hands Vanessa the requested information about Juli's children. Vanessa gets closer to Peixe.

Chapter 27

Bela finds Samuca with Vanessa at the beach and suspects that her rival orchestrated the situation on purpose. Gabriel decides against working with Junqueira after discovering that Vanessa had set the whole thing up. Enzo shoves Margô, leaving her feeling humiliated. Junqueira invites Vanessa to dinner. Pérola uncovers Vanessa's shady plans regarding her succession at the hospital.

Chapter 28

Pérola argues with Vanessa and ends up fainting in front of her daughter, who calls for medical help. Gabriel tells Peixe that he can help the young man. Bela speaks with the pediatrician, Íris, about Samuca. Ricardo takes charge of Pérola's care. Vitor informs Leandra about Pérola's health. Everyone eventually finds out about the businesswoman's illness. Pérola begs Bela to take over as president of the hospital.

Chapter 29

Bela is surprised by Pérola's request just as Vanessa arrives. Iara is disappointed in Juarez and asks her husband to leave the house. Toy believes he is managing to get closer to Leandra. Bela agrees to take over as president of the hospital, and Pérola celebrates. The businesswoman confides in the obstetrician that she uncovered a plot by Vanessa and Junqueira. Lucas helps Sabugo make his dream come true.

Chapter 30

Detective Macedo tells Gabriel that it is impossible to determine who was driving Zé's car at the time of the accident. Vitor confesses his feelings to Leandra. Juarez suffers the consequences of his actions. Peixe announces to Bela and her siblings that he will be staying at Gabriel's house for a while. Gabriel tells Bela that the car involved in the accident that killed Juli has been identified. Leandra exposes Toy.

Chapter 31

Junqueira insists on spending the night with Vanessa, and she insists on making the businessman promise to do everything he can to oust Bela from the hospital presidency. The obstetrician discovers that Iara has kicked Juarez out of the house. Margô congratulates Lucas on his work at the school. Vitor feels unwell after taking the medication given to him by Alencar. Vanessa discovers that Peixe is at Gabriel's house.

Chapter 32

Zé and Juarez are chased in traffic by another car. Tamara, a young pregnant woman, is shot, and Nelma calls on Bela for help. Bela, Vitor, and a surgeon from Luz Hospital & Maternity attend to Tamara, who begs the doctor to save her baby. Juarez returns Zé's parts, and the mechanic says he will return the market vendor's car. Bela and Sérgio manage to save Tamara and baby Helena.

Chapter 33

Bela suspends Vanessa and temporarily removes her from the hospital. Lucas discovers that Peixe is living with Gabriel and questions Bela about her feelings for the lawyer. Gabriel advises Peixe to pursue a relationship with Dalila. Vanessa conspires with Junqueira to oust Bela from the presidency. Bela and the children approve of Lia as their new helper. Juarez experiences severe chest pain.

Chapter 34

Peixe comes to Juarez's aid and calls Bela. Iara and Dalila visit Juarez in the hospital and accompany him back home. Pérola laments Vanessa's character to Iracema. Ricardo dismisses Alencar from the medical residency program, and Vitor feels the blow. Peixe confesses to Suelen that it was Dalila who tried to bring the two of them together. Peixe and Dalila kiss. Vanessa confronts Giovana about the betrayal.

Chapter 35

Vanessa threatens Giovana and forces her to stay by her side as they return to the hospital. Peixe and Dalila decide to date in secret. Gabriel celebrates Peixe’s relationship with Dalila. Bela discharges Tamara and baby Helena. Dalila tries to talk to Suelen. Pérola meets Manoel. Juarez asks Iara for another chance. Zé grows closer to Bela.

Chapter 36

Zé, introducing himself as Carlos, questions Bela about the accident that claimed Juli's life. Iara agrees to give Juarez another chance. Bela and the children are overcome with emotion as Juli's birthday approaches. Enzo thanks Lucas for insisting on his return to school. Toy and Leandra talk about their families. Vanessa asks Leandra to join the hospital board. Zé confronts Juarez.
