Black Exchange

In the early 1920s, Germany was in a state of economic chaos, crippled by reparations; the value of the Mark fell until it impoverished the middle-class. One victim was Herr Tonn, whose avarice led him to 'sell' his own daughter and steal money to make more on the black exchange.

The Outstation

Focuses on the relationship between Mr. Warburton, a refined and established British resident, and his new assistant, Alan Cooper, who is less formal and lacks decorum. Their contrasting backgrounds and attitudes lead to growing tension and conflict, ultimately culminating in a tragic confrontation.

The Princess

Chronicles the life of Mary Henrietta 'Princess' Uruqhart, whose life is dependent on the affections and sermons of her mad father.

Winner Takes All

Focuses on the Kent-Cumberland family, where the younger son, Thomas, is consistently disadvantaged in favor of his older brother, Gervase. Their mother actively manipulates situations to ensure Gervase inherits everything, even interfering with Thomas's romantic interests.

Lonely Road

Commander Malcolm Stevenson, suffering from unrequited love, drives to the coast while drunk and interrupts some smugglers.

Tip-Toes

Centers on a vaudeville act composed of Tip-Toes, her brother and her uncle, who try to pass her off as an aristocrat to snare a millionaire husband. Farcical complications ensue involving Tip-Toes' temporary amnesia and a marital infidelity subplot.
