How Not to Live Your Life is an absolutely hilarious and uniquely absurd comedy that masterfully showcases the fateful misadventures of Don, a character who is the epitome of laziness, incompetence, and denial. This show’s incredibly dry and idiotic humor is a breath of fresh air, bringing to life a protagonist who is simultaneously pathetic and endearing. Don’s utter lack of self-awareness and refusal to confront his own ineptitude paints a brilliant, albeit exaggerated, portrait of certain individuals and perhaps even certain generations.

The brilliance of this show lies in its ability to make you laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of Don’s life. Don is a man who can’t seem to get anything right—not because he lacks the ability, but because he simply doesn’t care to try. He’s the embodiment of sloth and foolishness, stumbling through life with a combination of arrogance and obliviousness that is both infuriating and hilariously entertaining.
