La Pluie

Well this had an interesting idea and started promising. But of course the typical thai storytelling in BLs stroke again and managed to make it boring. A pity because the idea really could have been something.

This is the story of two soul mates who find each other through unusual circumstances. They both have an odd medical condition that when it rains, they can only hear their soul mate's voice. In time they meet each other and a relationship forms. There are several other subplots and this has probably one of the largest supporting casts I've ever seen. Things go along well, but it builds up to some very tense emotional moments as you get closer to the end of the series, which does end on a happy note. That being said, I have to say that the ending was a bit of a letdown, yes it was happy, but it lost momentum on the emotional energy it built up going into it. I won't reveal any spoilers, but the two main characters were in a very challenging situation, and I really thought the ending would have been more than it was. Clearly there were things that still needed to be addressed between them and wasn't. The only real issue I had was some of the pacing of the show. For example, the main character's parents get divorced (not much of a spoiler), and he reacts badly to this and it causes him to do something (which would be a spoiler), and you think that's happening now, but you find out half way through the series the divorce was two years prior, which is important to the plot! It was very worth watching, but the pacing and the ending of the main storyline could have been a little better.
