Call It What You Want

A lot to unpack here. First, I will say that the first episode is very boring, it is basically setting up the whole series, but if you can get through that you will be rewarded with a powerful, though-provoking story that will stay with you for a while. There is the main couple, whose story is kind of mid, and then there is the second couple who are really the focus the second season and that is where the powerful and moving scenes really take hold. One of the guys, nicknamed "Bas", is a secondary character in the first season, but he is really the one to watch. At the end of the day, the story really is mostly about him, and the actor did an incredible performance. The story is about a director (a rather weak character, nothing against the actor) who is hired to film a BL series for the first time. He quickly learns that the actors are being abused by the executive on the set and it spirals out of control from there. I won't give away the end, which I actually thought was a little weak and a let down from most of the series, but I can't say why without revealing too much. This is actually from 2021 and in 2023 they recut it as a movie called It's Complicated, but I don't believe that the movie had any additional scenes.
