Shun Watanabe
Biography
Shun Watanabe, better known by his ring name Shun Skywalker, is a Japanese masked professional wrestler currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a member of House of Torture. Debuting in 2016, he is best known for his ten-year tenure with Dragongate, where he became a three-time Open the Dream Gate Champion, one-time Open the Twin Gate Champion and three-time Open the Triangle Gate Champion. He was ranked No. 33 in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) 500 in 2023. Skywalker spent part of 2019 and 2020 on excursion in Mexico and won International Wrestling Revolution Group's (IWRG) Rey del Ring tournament in 2020. He has also competed internationally for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), Toryumon Mexico and Major League Wrestling (MLW), while making appearances for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and Pro Wrestling NOAH (NOAH). In 2022, he captured the MLW World Middleweight Championship. After returning to Dragongate in 2020, Skywalker formed Masquerade before joining R.E.D. in 2022, which was subsequently rebranded as Z-Brats. He became one of Dragongate's top stars before announcing his departure in June 2026, wrestling his final match for the promotion against his protégé Homare on August 4. On August 15, 2026, at NJPW's 18th night of the G1 Climax 36 tournament, Skywalker officially signed with NJPW and joined House of Torture.
