Sanya Malhotra

Biography

Sanya Malhotra (born February 25, 1992) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After training in contemporary dance and ballet, she made her feature film debut portraying wrestler Babita Kumari in the biographical sports drama *Dangal* (2016). She subsequently choreographed the song "Sexy Baliye" for the musical drama *Secret Superstar* (2017) and gained further recognition with leading roles in the rural comedy-drama *Pataakha* (2018), the family comedy *Badhaai Ho* (2018), and the drama *Photograph* (2019), for which she received a Filmfare Critics Award nomination for Best Actress. Throughout the 2020s, Malhotra established a prominent presence across theatrical and streaming releases, starring in the biographical drama *Shakuntala Devi* (2020), the ensemble black comedy *Ludo* (2020), the comedy-drama *Pagglait* (2021), and the crime thriller *Love Hostel* (2022). She later headlined the satirical comedy-drama *Kathal* (2023) and the drama *Mrs.* (2023), alongside supporting appearances in the action thriller *Jawan* (2023) and the biographical drama *Sam Bahadur* (2023). Her later work includes the romantic comedy-drama *Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari* (2025) and the 2026 feature *Toaster*.
